Understanding diabetes What is diabetes? Diabetes can be categorized into types 1 and type 2. Let us understand the cause of diabetes and the measures that we can take to relieve and tackle this illness. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the body stop producing insulin. When you consume food, the body breaks down the carbohydrate part of your food for energy. This break down of carbohydrate turns it into glucose, which is then passes through into your bloodstream.
